THE DICHOTOMY OF DISCERNMENT.

As individuals with a kind and discerning nature, we may often find ourselves caught in a state of indecision between what our heart wants, what our mind is decoding, and what the Holy Spirit is revealing to us. This can often be misinterpreted as inconsistency or fickleness on our part. We tend to be generous in our assessments of others and may try to convince ourselves that we are mistaken in our conclusions. We give others the opportunity to change our minds, only to find that their true nature is consistent with what we have already perceived. It is both a blessing and a burden to have discernment and a tender heart. However, it is crucial to continually protect our hearts from the enemy's attacks and devices. People may approach us with a friendly smile, flood us with flattery, and give us false compliments, but the Holy Spirit has already revealed the true contents of their hearts. Although it may not always feel pleasant, it is essential to follow the Holy Spirit's guidance. We can trust that He will never lead us astray.
